HOUSE OF WAFFLES

SAVED & STIRRED

Privacy policy.

Effective date: October 14, 2026

Who we are

Saved & Stirred is developed by Adam Gray, operating as House of Waffles. Contact hello@houseofwaffles.com for support or privacy questions. This policy covers the iPhone and Mac apps.

Your private recipe library

Recipes, source evidence, creator names, publication dates, and video thumbnails are stored in your private iCloud database. The apps keep local caches and pending edits for offline use. The Mac also keeps import history to avoid processing the same post again. House of Waffles does not operate a recipe server or an advertising or analytics service.

Subscriptions and free imports

Apple processes subscription purchases and restores. The apps verify purchase status with StoreKit; House of Waffles does not receive payment card details. A private iCloud import ledger records completed recipe identifiers and temporary reservations to share the one-time allowance of 30 free recipe imports across devices. Both paid plans allow unlimited imports; OpenAI API usage is charged separately using your own key. Existing recipes remain available when a subscription ends.

Instagram access on your Mac

You choose which saved collections to read. Your Instagram username, collection choices, authenticated session, and import history remain on the Mac. Passwords and two-factor codes are used for sign-in and are not saved by the app. The authenticated session is retained so future imports can run. Instagram processes sign-in and content requests under its own policies. Saved access uses an unofficial connector and can be interrupted by Instagram challenges or service changes.

AI processing choices

Local mode uses downloaded Whisper and Qwen model weights to transcribe narration and create recipe cards on your Mac. Sources are not sent to OpenAI in local mode. Model downloads contact Hugging Face and its delivery providers; they receive technical download requests, not your Instagram sources. Model weights remain in the Mac app support folder until you remove them in Settings. In optional OpenAI mode, the Mac uses your API key to send source text, linked-page content, sampled video frames, and either audio or a locally generated transcript to OpenAI. API usage is charged by OpenAI. The key is stored in Mac Keychain and is never sent to iCloud or House of Waffles. Recipe-generation requests disable response storage, but this does not guarantee zero provider retention. OpenAI's API data policies apply. Temporary downloaded media is removed after processing.

The iPhone app

The iPhone reads and edits the private iCloud recipe library. It does not sign in to Instagram, store your OpenAI API key, or send extraction requests to OpenAI. Refreshing the iPhone library checks iCloud and does not remotely start the Mac importer.

Sharing and source links

Opening a source link visits the original provider, which handles that visit under its own policies. Copying or sharing a recipe sends the text only to the destination you choose. Copies outside these apps are controlled by that destination.

Retention and your choices

Imported recipes remain in your library when the original post is unsaved. Stop automatic checks or sign out of Instagram in Mac Settings to stop new imports. Signing out removes the active saved session; it does not delete recipes already in iCloud. Removing an app does not automatically delete its iCloud library or all Mac support files. Contact support for help removing your stored recipe data. The apps currently have no recipe-deletion control.

Support and policy updates

Emailing support sends your address and message to House of Waffles. Please do not include passwords, API keys, session files, or private recipe data unless needed for your request. The House of Waffles website uses Firebase Hosting and may process technical requests to deliver and secure its pages. Policy changes are published on houseofwaffles.com. Effective October 14, 2026.
